Notes from Stairs Webmaster:

On 5/31/2002, 40+ neighbors from the Merriewood area gathered to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Merriewood stairs. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with the results of this project.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Councilmember Spees, the City of Oakland and the folks at Public Works for their efforts and actions in rebuilding the Merriewood stairs.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this project become a reality.
